Philipp Fleischmann

Philipp Fleischmann (1985, Austria) graduated in Vienna, at the Academy of Fine Arts (Dorit Margreiter), he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Gerard Byrne) and at the School for Independent Film Friedl Kubelka of which he has become the Artistic Director in 2014. Fleischmann’s work has been exhibited and awarded internationally in film festivals and exhibition spaces, among others: Secession Vienna, Film Museum Vienna, Berlinale Forum Expanded, Toronto International Film Festival, Mumok Vienna, Diagonale, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, Belmacz Gallery London, Viennale, Moscow International Experimental Film Festival. In 2020, Fleischmann will be presenting two new commissioned works at the 34th São Paulo Biennial and at the MACRO Museum in Rome and will be participating to the International Rotterdam Film Festival, among others.

Philipp Fleischmann lebt und arbeitet als Künstler und Filmemacher in Wien. Studium an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien bei Dorit Margreiter sowie an der Schulen für künstlerische Photographie und unabhängigen Film bei Friedl Kubelka. Seit 2014 leitet er die Schule Friedl Kubelka für unabhängigen Film, Wien. Ausstellungen und Screenings (Auswahl): Secession Wien, Berlinale Forum Expanded, Toronto International Film Festival, Mumok Kino, Film Festival Rotterdam, Anthology Film Archives (NYC), Belmacz London. 2020 wird Fleischmann zwei neue Filmarbeiten für die 34th Bienal de São Paulo und das Macro Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome produzieren.
