Productive Work...

July 9, 2018:

What is it supposed to be – is the title of an exhibition at the MuseumsQuartier, Q21, frei_raum in Vienna, June 28 until September 2, curated by Anamarija Batista. I am part of the show with two rather personal 'auto-pathographic' works: Bone Work and Preservation. I explore healing as a productive process and the patient, although sleeping during surgery, as an active part of the procedures. Working with and on the removed bone – holding a bone in my hands that has been inside of my body for 50 years – is quite unusual. I examined its surface, the hole that the surgical instrument has left on the bottom, its color, with the lust of a little child. With the intention to bring my experience together with the object that is actually not so easy to accept as part of myself. I am still very much in the process... of healing, thinking, working and meditating.  Christina Lammer
