Back in Interventional Radiology

Vienna – the video presentation in London was prepared in the biomedical field of interventional radiology. I have been working there as a visual ethnographer between 2000 and 2004 and took the chance to actualize research materials. Johannes Lammer (not related by blood with the author), head of the Department of Interventional Radiology at the Medical University Vienna, introduced me to a patient from Great Britain who needed to get an embolisation of her uterus ateries, treating her myoma. Unfortunately the treatment was rather painful for her. Nevertheless she allowed me to accompany her during her operation, using my video camera and documenting the procedures.
